Coastal-Marine Spatial Planning

Image module
The coastal and marine sphere is a complex system, where different interests, uses, activities and actors interact, exerting constant pressure on natural resources. In the face of this reality, we seek to generate local planning processes, opening up spaces for participation and collective reflection to enable the understanding and consideration of the various dimensions (cultural, environmental, economic, etc.) that are manifested in the territories.

By means of this participatory approach, we aim at a land-use planning that involves the communities’ commitment and allows for the protection of the biocultural resources present in the coastal and marine areas. Additionally, we accompany communities strengthening processes, offering tools oriented towards empowering community design and decision-making instances with the objective of strengthening the role of local communities in protecting their rights and their marine coastal heritage.
